Dr. Martens Shoe Size Chart

Shoes that have unique names usually have an interesting story associated with them and Dr. Martens shoes were founded by a real doctor by the same name who was unable to wear his usual shoes after he had an accident on a ski trip to the Alps. When walking became impossible after the accident, new shoes needed to be made and the Dr. Martens brand was born.

The company was founded by Dr. Klaus Martens and Dr. Herbert Funck to enhance the commercial sale of these shoes. Due to the unique needs of an injured foot, the design of the new shoe permitted shoe characteristics that included a deviation from hard and flat standard leather soles to soles that were filled with air to provide additional comfort for the feet while walking. This is a distinctive feature of Dr. Martens shoes. Extremely popular for comfort and durability, Dr. Martens brand includes boots, shoes, sandals, flats and loafers.
